Starve the ego and feed the soul – True self VS False self

The ego is not who you really are. The ego is your self-image; it is your social mask; it is the role you are playing. Your social mask thrives on approval. It wants control, and is sustained by power, because it lives in fear. – Deepak Chopra

Conditioned by society

From the moment we are born we begin to move away from our true selves. Parents and society subconsciously mould us into something we are not. As we grow up we forget our inner child and what used to make us smile and move into the ego mind – the false self.  Our false self is always the ego mind. Our ego is fed by us living in our false self,  which we are not. Anytime you find yourself egotistic chances are you are now embodying your false self. The Ego moves us out of the heart space, to move back into your true self you have to become ego less.

“Only the heart can connect us, the ego separates. let love guide you not fear.”

Ego Self VS True self

As humans it is only natural to get defensive but the thing is if we have our guard up it is part of our ego coming out and it will move us more into our false self.
Growing up we were conditioned to live up to society’s expectation’s whether it is what we see in magazines or on the internet, Subconsciously we process this as what is right and start to compare ourselves with other’s based on physical aspects. Moving us out of the heart centre and living as a false version of our self. We have relied on our ego for so long as a false sense of protection. It is a paradigm, The only way to change this is by shifting the ego mindset and moving back into the heart centre.

When we crave other people’s attention we will generally not attract the right sort of people into our lives whether it is our social or personal life, you get what you give and if we live from an ego mindset – our false self – this is exactly what we will attract back.

Belief vs emotion

Really we are not 100% happy when we are living from the ego. Most of us do not know who we are because of how society has conditioned our thinking growing up. We care to much about what other people think and this is what is holding most of us back, because of fear of embarrassment or fear of not fitting in.

We are all equal, we are not higher or lower than no one!

Once we stop caring what other people think of us we truly become free.
Our true self is a valuable part of our self.

Integrity

You can not create anything positive and long lasting without integrity. By living and embodying your false self you are living with no integrity. It is important to always stay true to yourself, and love your self and your own company. No body will truly love you unless you love yourself. When you are living within your heart centre, which is your true self your life just begins to flow. You start to see the world and your place in this amazing world completely different, your purpose for being here will become a lot more clear. When you are living from your true self, you naturally start to realise your own inner potential and become a lot more being happy with who you are.

Paramahamsa Nithyananda Skeleton Dance – Integrity meditation

Paramahamsa Nithyananda presents a unique practice from the Agamas, ‘the skeleton dance’, to build integrity in the bone structure. Till now, the teachings on integrity were to practice integrity as a mental technique. But integrity is is a bio-memory stored in your bone structure, and in this video Paramahamsa Nithyananda gives integrity as a physical practice. Building integrity from the physical level is very powerful and fast, working from the inside out and pushing and manifesting in all aspects of life.
In the introduction to the technique, Paramahamsa Nithyananda also explains why we need integrity. With the power of integrity, everything we say becomes reality, even if it is not in line with the laws of physics and nature. Integrity itself is an important spiritual power, the power of words. And, our integrity is essential for receiving the initiations of the Master when he guides us into manifesting more and more powers. Since it is only through our integrity that the Master addresses us.

When introducing the technique, Paramahamsa Nithyananda gives this explanation: ‘You will visualise your skeleton structure. Without loosing power over your skeleton structure, you go on jumping, dancing for any song. Your body should be active, as many bones as possible should be moving, but your inner space should be holding the whole skeleton structure’s visualisation. It will almost be like a skeleton dancing. You will see in your inner space the skeleton dancing, but that cannot reduce the speed of your dance. Your movement should be there and the skeleton structure should be held in your inner space.’

Expressing yourself through the vishuddha

 Vishuddha, what it is?

The Vishuddha is the sanskirt word for the 5th chakra, also known as the throat chakra. The throat chakra is located in the centre of the throat and represented by the colour blue.
Our throat is the center of our communication and this is where we take in sustenance and express ourselves.
The fifth chakra is the first of the three spiritual chakras, to be open in the fifth chakra is to speak, listen, and express yourself from a higher form of communication.  If you where to learn to meditate on this chakra you will reach the grand state of Trikala Jnani—that is to say, one who is capable of knowing the past, present, and future.

The mind becomes free from the influence of our material world. noble and spiritual tendencies of the human mind.

When the energy of the mind reaches the vishuddha chakra a special powers of the mind gets awakened.

Benefits of a balanced and aligned throat chakra

An open and balanced Vishuddha means that you can express yourself very well, verbally, emotionally, and spiritually, as well as have the ability to properly perceive what other people express out. You are able to have very truthful verbal expression, regardless of any fears about possibly not being accepted or be judged by what you want to say.

When this chakra is in balance we are able to tune in and listen to the guidance of our higher self. We can truly find our inner truth, and to communicate and live our truth in daily life. A balanced Vishuddha chakra allows us to easily communicate with others, and to be honest with ourselves.

The throat chakra is connected to self-expression, creativity, writing, listening to words and music, smell and taste. When this chakra is balanced, we speak and listen to people and what they have to say.

Opening your throat chakra

  • Meditate on specific energies and concepts.  By individually meditating on something specific we can help improve them. Mindfulness in a very condensed state.
  • Try Singing and playing and instrument. Singing is a fantastic method to clear your throat Chakra and you do not need to be a professional musician to play an instrument. You can easily pick up a snare drum at guitarcenter.com and have a few moment’s of mindfulness whilst also learning something new. It is good for your soul to step outside your comfort zone every now and again.
  • Let go of regressive emotions and experience. Regressive experiences can help us want to stay away from positive progresses experiences we might be faced with. Take a few moments out to have mindfulness, forgive and forget and let go. You do not want to get tied to these emotions which will ultimately prevent this chakra from being balanced.
  • Get a massage. If you get a good neck and shoulder massage your throat chakra will surely open up.
  • Soak in water and visualise your throat chakra balanced.  Use a creative visualisation meditation to see your throat chakra and energy running towards it. Emotions and passion are fluid and so is water. They flow, they change, they adapt, they change in spectrum etc
  • Think Blue. Have thoughts about a beautiful and bright blue light. Blue is the colour of the Throat Chakra. Inhale when you see this light and imagine that the light is filling up your throat area with cleansing and healthy light. When you exhale imagine that you are releasing all your stress and tension.
  • Use the power of affirmations. Using the power of affirmations is one of the most effective ways to balance our chakras. Our thoughts create our reality, and by regularly practising positive chakra balancing affirmations, we can do astonishing results in our lives.
  • Cry. It might sound odd, but crying is a form of purification that can unblock your throat chakra.  If you ever feel a ‘lump’ in your throat, it is a sign that your throat chakra could be blocked and you have to cry to help clear it. Next time when you are sad, cry it all out. You will surely feel better.

Blocked Vishuddha:

When the Vishuddha is not balanced communication breaks down. We may be unable to effectively let ourselves be heard, and, conversely, we may be unable to listen—to others, and to our own higher self. This chakra is damaged by all that passes through the throat—lying, gossip, alcohol, smoking, drugs, and overeating. Deficiencies in Vishuddha manifest as neck stiffness, shoulder tension, and teeth grinding.

A blockage of the vishuddha can cause you to become quiet, and fearful. The imbalance may also create feelings of anxiety, insecurity, and shyness when it comes to self-expression and speaking to others.

Below is a list of some of the non physical symptoms that might occur if you have a blocked throat chakra.

  • fear of speaking
  • inability to express thoughts
  • shyness
  • inconsistency in speech and actions
  • social anxiety
  • inhibited creativity
  • stubbornness
  • detachment

Affirmations to balance your throat chakra.

  • This chakra is centred in our throat and exudes a pale blue light. The throat chakra governs our ability to express and communicate clear thoughts and ideas. It is also related to truth, maturity, independence and the ability to trust others.
  • I express myself with clear intent.
  • I Speak My Truth.
  • I Speak My Inner Truth.
  • I Speak My Truth With Confidence.
  • I Speak The Truth.
  • Creativity flows in and through me.
  • I Am the light of God.
  • I Am That I Am.
  • My Voice Is Strong and Clear.
  • My Voice Is My Own.
  • I gracefully express my feelings and emotions.
  • I hear and speak the truth.

The unbeaten heart – Anahata

WHAT IS THE ANAHATA?

Located in the centre of the chest and represented by the colour green; the Anahata is the centre of love, warmth, compassion and joy. This only makes sense that it is the heart chakra.

The fourth chakra Anahata generally means “unstuck” or “unhurt.” The name implies that beneath the hurts and grievances of past experiences lies a pure and spiritual place where no hurt exists. Love is one of the highest vibrations in the universe. To actively show others compassion and love, you are raising your own frequency making you a magnet for all things amazing in the universe. Smile and the universe smile’s back. Love and the universe will love you back. You get what you give. This is more literal than anything when talking about your chakras as your chakras control your karma..

A BALANCED HEART CHAKRA

It is pretty easy to know whether you have a blocked heart chakra or not, just go with how you are feeling. Do you feel compassion towards other’s? Do you live consciously knowing that you are whole and connected to all life source?

When your heart chakra is open you are flowing with love and compassion. Others can feel your love and warmth, they feel loved and accepted unconditionally. People feel at peace around you, as there is no judgement coming from you. However, to much of a good thing is good for nothing. If you have an over active heart chakra this could also be dangerous leading to lower frequency emotions, such as extreme jealousy,  co-dependency and harsh judgement on others just to name a few.

It is always best to seek help from a qualified Reiki practitioner when unsure about how balanced your chakras are.

Signs your heart chakra is blocked include feelings of shyness and loneliness. If you are incapable to forgive or have a tendency to lack empathy, then you are leading with your head more often than your heart. In regards to the body, this can include poor circulation and blood pressure extremes. The heart, lungs and upper extremities are all influenced greatly by the Anahata.

The city of jewels – Manipura

Manipura what is it?

Manipura is the sanskirt word for the Solar Plexus which is the third chakra represented by the colour yellow.  Yellow is the symbol of the mind, intellect and wisdom. It is a positive magnetic vibration that acts as a counterbalance for irritable conditions of the nervous system.

In earlier post’s I have written about The root (Survival), The Sacral (Creativity/passion) and after the aspects of understanding survival and feeling passion, come’s growth and nourishment which begins right from our Solar Plexus. Located in our midsection above our navel the solar plexus is the centre of willpower, the core of our personality and our identity. While the (2nd) Sacral chakra seeks pleasure and enjoyment, the third chakra is all about the belief of who you are.

The solar plexus chakra is associated with the fire element because fire provides warmth and comfort. The main function of this energy centre is to give real strength to move forward and realise personal desires and intentions in the world. This chakra spans a wide emotional area while it provides warmth and comfort it can also cause fear and terror. However, it plays a fundamental role in the development of personal power and it also feeds your direction in life and the actions you need to take to reach your goals.

The life lesson of the Solar Plexus is to develop your inner power by being honest and at peace with yourself .

A Balanced Solar Plexus

A Strong third chakra reflects the ability to move forward in life with confidence and power. It reflects the ability to make conscious choices to choose and to act. The Solar Plexus chakra attributes to our diet and digestion, meaning if you have an unhealthy diet your bound to have an unbalanced Solar Plexus.

A balanced Solar Plexus is very beneficial for many reason’s some of my favourite are that you will notice progress within your personal and spiritual growth and development, you will feel the need to transform into the best version of yourself, your decision-making skills improve and you will feel more independent.

An unbalanced Solar Plexus on the other hand is not so nice with symptoms such as stubbornness, an overwhelming ego, poor health due to a poor diet, poor judgement, lack of confidence, Denial, fear of rejection, fears about physical appearance. In my opinion a Narcissist has an extremely closed, unbalanced Solar Plexus among other chakras.

On one side, a balanced solar plexus chakra makes it easy to find balance between your personal power and harmonious relationships with others; on the other side, an imbalanced third chakra could undermine your self-esteem and social life.

When your Solar Plexus becomes balanced you will show assertiveness, Exert your will in a way that leads to the expected results somewhat effortlessly and have harmonious relationships with whoever you are around.
A balanced Manipura also awakens your conscious mind into learning how to relate to your whole self mentally, physically and spiritually and makes you more conscious of your personal power and how to use your personal power in a balanced way.

Balancing your Solar Plexus

  • Meditate and take part in mindfulness activities: There are many meditations and mindfulness exercises for the solar plexus chakra, one in fact is listed below.
  • Pranayama: Pranayama is control of Breath. “Prana” is Breath or vital energy in the body. On subtle levels prana represents the pranic energy responsible for life or life force, and “ayama” means control. So Pranayama is “Control of Breath”.   Another easy method to balance your solar plexus is by just breathing! Make each breath mindful focusing on breathing life into your solar plexus and any toxins out of your body.
  • Nutrition: Have a healthy balanced diet and you will have a health balance Solar Plexus Chakra. shutterstock_131743070
  • Wear yellow and eat naturally yellow foods: I have posted it many times when talking about how to balance your chakras because it is one of the most obvious, easiest and quickest way to give your chakra a quick energy boost.
  • Meditate after you eat: Because of the Manipura being attributed to the digestive system it helps clear blockages and balance your third chakra if you do a quick meditation after you eat focusing on your solar plexus.

Powerful Solar Plexus affirmations

  • I am great in my way.
  • I am positively empowered.
  • I am the architect of my life; I build its foundation and choose its contents.
  • Today, I abandon my old habits and take up new, more positive ones
  • My self-esteem is healthy
  • I respect my body and lead a nutritious life.
  • I starve my ego and feed my soul with wisdom and integrity.
  • I am empowered
  • I am centred
  • I attract success
  • I have power bubbling within me.
  • I am successful in all my ventures.

The sweetness of the Svadhisthana

Svadhisthana what is it?

Svadhisthana is the Sanskrit word for the sacral chakra, in English it translates to the dwelling place within. The Sacral Chakra is the second chakra. It is associated with the emotional body, sensuality, and creativity. It’s element is water and as such, its energy is characterized by flow and flexibility.

In the Tantric tradition, this chakra is associated with the genitals and sexual energy. Indian teachings place a lot of emphasise on celibacy, to raise and transmute this powerful sexual energy to the brain (or, more correctly, the Upper T’ien Tan Centre), increasing higher consciousness. In practice however, this noble ideal flounders, because the individual is not yet ready to renounce physical sex, and may become psychologically unbalanced or full of guilt which would lead this chakra to also be unbalanced.

The sacral chakra is represented by the color orange and is located about three inches below the navel, at the center of your lower belly. In the back, it’s located at the level of the lumbar vertebrae.
The symbol is a lotus power with six petals, the sense is taste and the mantra for this Chakra is VAM.

The Sacral Chakra focuses on emotional depths, passion, pleasure and curiosity, This is the centre for emotion, pleasure, sensuality, intimacy, and connection.  I know some people who often refer to the second chakra as the “lover’s Chakra”.

Symbolically and literally, the Sacral Chakra is the birth canal. We are capable to birth a life we want, to start that project we’ve always wanted to do, a relationship, a friendship, anything that we can put our minds to. It is having that personal power to move forward in life and do what you have always dreamed of accomplishing. It is the sensation of being physically alive and creating the life you want.

The life lesson of the Sacral Chakra is to bond with others in an emotionally healthy way and to express our creativity freely.
shutterstock_184732583

A balanced Sacral Chakra

In order to live a passionate and deep life you must have a balanced Sacral Chakra. If you ever feel detached from society or from yourself,  or if you are sick you most likely also have an unbalanced Sacral Chakra.
The Sacral Chakra is the centre of creativity, everything that is possibly creative comes from the Sacral Chakra. It is also where your fertility originates. After all, conceiving a child is a creative process.

A person with an open Sacral Chakra is passionate, present in their body, sensual, creative, and connected to their feelings.
When the Sacral Chakra is balanced, the relationship with the world and other people is centered around nurturing, pleasure and harmonious exchange.

The Sacral centre is located to the quantity of sexual energy a person has.  When it is open, a person has a lot of sexual energy and sexual power.  When blocked, sexual sensations will be weak and disappointing.  People who have problems with guilt and sin, especially in the religious sense: the body is sinful, or sex is dirty; have problems with this chakra.

Balancing your Sacral Chakra

  • Meditate on specific energies and concepts.  By individually meditating on something specific we can help improve them. Mindfulness in a very condensed state.
  • Find an active passion.  The Sacral Chakra is not only a passionate and emotional chakra but it is also a physical one in this sense. People who are into yoga, tantra, sport etc usually have a pretty good sense of their emotional state, physical state and where they are going with what they are doing.  It is always good to find a physical activity or a hobby that you are passionate in and regularly indulge in to help balance this chakra.
  • Soak in water and visualize Sacral Chakra balance.  Use a creative visualization meditation to visualize you Sacral Chakra and energy running towards it to help balance. Emotions and passion are fluid and so is water. They flow, they change, they adapt, they change in spectrum etc
  • Visualize orange. Orange is the sacral chakra’s color. Imagine a bright, healing orange glow filling up your entire lower abdomen—keeping in mind that we’re three dimensional.
  • Eat naturally orange-colored foods and wear Orange clothes. Oranges, Pumpkin, sweet potato are all naturally colored foods that can help balance your Sacral Chakra. By wearing and being around the colour Orange this can also give your Sacral Chakra a boost. shutterstock_439173490
  • Tone up.  While learning to let go of unnecessary muscular gripping and tension is ideal for chakra health throughout your body, it’s also important to take care of your body and keep your muscles strong and healthy.

Sacral Chakra Affirmations

  • I love and enjoy my body.
  • I have healthy boundaries.
  • I am open to experiencing the present moment through my senses.
  • I am passionate.
  • I feel pleasure and abundance with every breath I take.
  • I nourish my body with healthy food and clean water.
  • I know how to take care of my needs.
  • I value and respect my body.

The root to it all – Muladhara

Muladhara – What is it?

The root chakra.
The word Muladhara breaks down into two Sanskrit words: Mula meaning “root” and Adhara, which means “support” or “base.” Other names for this chakra are Base, First, Red, Coccygeal, Coccyx Chakra

The Root chakra is the foundation of the chakra system located at the base of the spine and groin area, this is the animal or base nature. It is the most physical of our chakras  Safety, security and stability are important keywords for a healthy base chakra as without these you do not have the feeling of belonging in your physical reality and tend to live in a world of illusions and poor feelings.
It is not only the color of blood that connects it to the Root Chakra but it is the vital source, keeping you alive, transporting nutrients and life force around your entire system. It is a core part of your survival and existence.

The lesson of this chakra is self-preservation; we have a right to be here.

shutterstock_237804436.jpg

Imbalances in the root chakra

If there is an imbalance in the root chakra you may experience anxiety disorders, fears, or nightmares. Physical imbalances may manifest as problems in the colon, with the bladder, with elimination, or with lower back, leg, or feet issues. In men, prostate problems may occur. Eating disorders may also be a sign of a root chakra imbalance.
Emotional imbalances include feelings affecting our basic survival needs: money, shelter and food; ability to provide for life’s necessities.
When this chakra is balance, you feel supported, a sense of connection and safety to the physical world, and grounded.

Opening and healing your root chakra

  • Going for a walk and getting outside is one of the best methods in opening your root chakra. Especially if your are barefoot feel the ground beneath your feet, then sit down and feel mother nature pulling on the base of your spine towards the core of the earth and think red. The root chakra is related to the color red so envisioning  a red flame glowing brightly at the base of your spine can help clear the root chakra. You can start with a meditation visualizing the red flame at the base of your tailbone and picture the light extending down to your legs and feet and grounding you to the earth.
  • Eat Red Fruit, Vegetables and anything naturally red in color. As mentioned in my previous post “wheel’s to the infinite you.” Eating naturally red food’s, which is the color of the root chakra will give your root chakra an instant boost.
  • Wear Red Clothing. If  you wear red this also give’s your root chakra a boost, this is also the same if you sleep in red bedding or in a red painted room etc
  • Dance. Dancing is one of the best way to open and heal your root chakra. The spontaneous movements that emerge while dancing the base chakra tend to draw inspiration from tribal dancing, as found in the indigenous cultures of Africa, Australia and North America. These tribal dances are linked to the issues of the base, including our roots, survival and grounding.
  • Do yoga. Many yoga postures are designed to cleanse this chakra.
  • Repeat positive affirmations. Repeating positive affirmations associated to the root chakra are very powerful methods in opening your root chakra. These include affirmations such as ” I am open to all possibilities.” ” I am grounded.” ” I am so grateful to be connected to mother nature and all life force.” “I am happy and grateful that today I am stable and secure.”
  • Crystals. It is important to wear or carry crystals to heal the root chakra and maintain a positive energy flow.

shutterstock_429545836

Floating through life

When your Root chakra is closed too far, you may actually feel that your feet don’t seem to really touch the ground.  The Root chakra is particularly about connecting to the ground. Expressions like “Be on firm ground” and “Getting on your feet again” convey a good connection and an open Root chakra. “To lose ground” and “Getting swept off your feet” convey a closed (or almost closed) Root chakra. The more we feel connection with the earth, the more we will feel purpose.

Balancing and opening the root/base chakra allows negative emotions to be released, regenerating confidence and your will to move forward in life. A healthy root/base chakra promotes feelings of security and encourages exploration to find your life’s purpose and achieve success.  A balanced root chakra also generates the flow of energy to all other chakras.
